YOUR FAITH MUST NOT FAIL

Luke 22:32 KJV

[32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Jesus knew it will get to a point when challenges will be overwhelming and temptation will be inevitable. When our faith will be tested. He had been there. He prayed that the cup should pass over Him and immediately realized that He was a Man on assignment. He quickly surrendered to the will of His Father, the Sender. He wants you to handle situations the same way, surrendering to the will of the Father. There are some things that prayer will not change. You just have to receive grace to go through them. Jesus prayed but had to go through what was ahead of Him. The cup couldn’t pass Him over. Some times, like Peter, we think we’re all set for what is ahead but Jesus made him realize that before the cock will crow he would have denied Him thrice. He didn’t bother praying about it. He never thought he could get to the point but it happened. Let him that thinks he stands, take heed lest he falls. Jesus said men should always pray and not faint. The impact of prayer was evident in the ministry of Jesus. It is important to pray without ceasing. Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith fail not, no wonder he was still in faith/ministry after he denied Jesus. There are people that have denied their faith and turned their backs on God due to challenges and temptations. The Bible says we will suffer affliction but the grace of God is always sufficient. The secret to walking with God is ensuring that your faith is intact. That was why that was the only prayer that Jesus prayed for Peter. No matter what you go through, God cannot and will not jettison you. Everything will work together for your good the same it worked for Joseph. And when it does strengthen others around you. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Shalom

  1. God help me, hold me firm when my faith in you weakens.
