COUNT IT ALL JOY

Image
James 1:2-3 KJV - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Contrary to the normal human mindset, we are instructed to count our trials and temptations as joy. This is kingdom mindset, not the world’s. God’s plan is to use our trials to make us grow and to strengthen us.    This looks impossible to the natural man. That is why the scriptures the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Those trials try our faith and produce patience in you. Faith is built as you hear the word of God, but trials reveal how much faith you have. Faith is tested through trials but not produced by trials. Counting your trials as joy is a way of expressing your faith and it shows whether you are focusing on the trial or on God. When you focus on God, it depicts your trust in Him and empowers you to giv

DON’T GIVE UP

Image
Challenges and dificulties are unavoidable. They come whether you are walking in God’s will or not. Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth had to contend with barrenness. We all have to contend with one challenge or the other at every point in life.  When you are faced with difficult situations, do you give up or walk through? A very good example of a person that persevered is Abraham Lincoln. He failed some many times but he pushed past his failures and eventually became the 16th president of the United States. His name is known till date because he didn’t give up. Life is full of experiences that will make you swim or sink.    Don’t wait to learn to swim when the boat is at verge of capsizing. God is always willing to walk us through every difficult situation. Build a strong relationship with God before crises.  Faith believes what it can’t see which is contrary to the world standard. People can easily relate with what they can see that is why they state the obvious. Always see the light at t

WAITING SEASON

Image
Psalm 27:14 KJV Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. God is a God of times and seasons. Seasons are given to us to season us. You can’t pray yourself out of a season but you can choose how you are going to weather it. Every season must accomplish its purpose in due time.  There are different seasons, dry season and rainy season. No amount of fasting can shorten the seasons. You can’t get out of a season before it’s time. Be careful what you do when you are waiting. The right thing in the wrong season is a wrong thing.  When we are waiting, it sometimes look like we are wasting time, but it is not so. There is something that God wants to accomplish. The best thing is to understand the season you are in and get yourself equipped while you are in it. Learn all that you need to learn. Grow out of the season. Don’t rush to get out of it. Your waiting season is a time of preparation.    Ask God for direction.  Waiting season

THE LORD IS WITH YOU

Image
Jeremiah 20:11 KJV But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. The presence of God is guaranteed for every believer irrespective of the circumstance you are faced with. However that doesn’t exempt us from challenges. It only assures us of victory and peace in the midst of storm (if we’re conscious of His presence). The Psalmist said if he passes through the valley of the shadow of death, yet he will not fear evil, for God is with him. Processes are usually not comfortable or interesting but the products it produces are phenomenal. It is an oven experience. If the flour doesn’t go through the oven, it will not produce a good aroma and a product that will end up on the king’s table. Behind every glory there’s a story. Your story may be your ministry because in that mess there is a message. Don’t be ove

GOD IS ABLE

Job 22:29 KJV When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. Economic situation all over the world is nothing to write home about. When an event happens in one country, the effects can be felt on the economies of other countries. The world economy faces the risk of a prolonged period of growth.  The world system is failing everyday but the Word of God stands sure. The world system may seem to be easier but don’t go that way. God’s way is the best and far superior. Don’t look to natural sources, your job, your strength or investment (it doesn’t mean you won’t work but don’t depend on it. It can’t solve your issues). Believe God for direction and look to His Word. He is able to get things done. Who would have thought a fish could carry a coin? Yet it did. Or that a widow in Zarephath who had little left, could sustain a servant of God and her household through the period of famine? Anything can happen when God is involved. The foo

Uncontrollable Circumstances of life

I woke on the 4th of June which was my birthday with a heart of thanksgiving. I honestly have so many reasons to thank God looking at the goodness of God in my life. It was a Sunday and the church celebrated me, coupled with the fact that the day before was our 28th wedding anniversary. So it was double celebration characterized with so much singing and dancing, giving glory to God.  Usually my parents will call early to sing and pray, which was their custom for all their children and grandchildren, but they didn’t call me. I assumed it was because it was a Sunday and they knew we will be getting ready for church.  After service I called to ask why they didn’t call me, my mom said I should put that aside. They prayed for me. I spoke with my mom thrice that day, the last was 6pm when she called saying she will be going to buy something. I said I’ll come the following day to take since she prefers I drive her instead of her driver, but she said I shouldn’t bother. My dad called me at 8:3

BORN TO BE GREAT (2)

Image
1 Chronicles 29:12 KJV [12] Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Something is responsible for greatness. The source of a thing determines it’s greatness. Great rivers take their source from small rivers. The Bible talks of the Assyrian, a cedar in Lebanon. A tree with high stature. The waters made it great. Things don’t just happen. What you are connected to determine how far you grow. A tree that is not properly connected to the soil cannot last. It is when it is deeply connected that it can take root downward and bear fruit upward.  God is our Source. Greatness can only be accessed through Him.  When you delight in the law of the Lord and meditate in His law day and night, you will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever you do will prosper. God can lift

BORN TO BE GREAT (1)

Image
1 John 4:4 KJV [4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Every believer is destined to be great. This is because the seed of greatness is in you. Greater is He that is in you, once you have Jesus. However greatness is not automatic. It is only the seed that is in you. What you do with the seed determines how far you go. Some may choose to eat their seeds, or disregard what they have, thinking it is insignificant. While others may choose to plant and nurture the seed to its full potential.  No man can rise beyond his level of knowledge and understanding. No one stumbles into greatness, you work at it. How we attain greatness is very important. Some think they can pull down others, kill, cheat, lie, impersonate to attain greatness. It will be short lived.  What is your definition of greatness?  Is it your possession, your level of influence in this social media age or fulfilling God’s purpose for your l

SEEING DEEPLY

Image
Psalm 119:18 KJV [18] Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. The person that made this statement had his eyes opened. He can see the letters but needs supernatural illumination. God will not do what is humanly possible. When you close your eyes and pray that God should open it, you will be there until you are tired. The person that is asking God to open his eyes is asking for insight and revelation. He wanted the spirit behind the letters. He knows that the word is spirit and life. According to 2Cor3:6 the letter kills but the spirit gives life.  Looking is a physical act of moving your eyes to see something while seeing involves understanding what you are looking at. It is not everyone that sees well. Jesus spat on a blind man’s eyes and put His hands on him. He asked the man what he saw. He said I see men as trees, walking. He put His hands on him again and he was restored.  Looking is simply the act of directing your eyes towards something. Seeing,
