MYSTERY OF PREPARATION

Image
2 Chronicles 27:6 KJV [6] So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God. Preparation is something done to get ready for an event or what is to come. It is thinking through. It is becoming adequately ready for what is desired. Only those who prepare their ways make waves. Spiritual preparation determines physical results. Heart preparation determines earth manifestation. God prepared for everything He did and we can only be like our Father 1Cor2:9. Redemption was not after thought. God prepared to redeem us before we were born or committed any sin. Creation wasn’t stumbled into. It was prepared for and done systematically Prov8:27-30. That’s why nobody builds without having a drawing of the design. That’s part of the preparation for building.  Preparation has no substitute in life adventure. You hardly get stranded even in the face of obstacles when you prepare. Your preparation determines your result. Preparation is something God holds highly. God give

GIVING LOVE

Image
John 3:16 KJV [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. You can give without loving but you can’t love without giving. It is more blessed to give than to receive. Whatever we sow has a way of returning to us. It leaves our hands but it doesn’t leave our lives. It goes into the future to multiply and wait for us. Giving is my favorite past time. I get fulfilled being a blessing. My husband called me one day in the office and said he had a leading to sow the BMW 3 series we bought 6 months before then to a man of God and his family. The only thing I could say was, go ahead, the life of a man does not consist in the abundance of what he possesses. God meets our need per time. Money and possessions must not have a hold over us.  No matter what I’m given, I make it a point of duty to ensure someone benefits from it. We have brought nothing into the world and won’t take anything out of it

Praise Power

Image
Isaiah 43:21 KJV [21] This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. Showing forth the praise of God is what God requires of us irrespective of what we are faced with. This is because praise is a powerful weapon that commands the supernatural. God is always on duty when genuine praise emanates from us. It is easy to praise God when everything is fine. However when we are faced with challenges, we may find it difficult to praise God but that is when praise should break forth from us. Praise in the face of storm is not acknowledging the storm but the One who is able to calm the storm.  Paul and Silas were accused falsely and beaten unjustly, chained and locked up in the prison. Common sense demands that they feel bad and depressed, but they knew better so they chose to call the attention of the God who is able to do all things. At midnight, when they should be sleeping, Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God. Acts 16:26 KJV [26] And suddenly there was a

STAY IN HIS HANDS

Image
Psalm 139:10 KJV [10] Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. Everything that is born of God is always attacked by the enemy because he knows there’s a glorious future ahead. However don’t be moved by the tantrums the devil throws at you. The accuser of brethren wants to make you feel you don’t qualify for God’s blessings. It is Jesus that qualified you not your works. God who determined He will do something significant in your life will not renege. Delay is not denial. God is always on time.  Even though men have written you off, or forsaken you. Even if you feel like you are a failure or a loser. Even if you feel you are not where you are supposed to be. Even if your value, self esteem and courage has been eroded.  Even when you feel broken and dejected. Like the clay in the hand of the potter, He will make you again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. For as long as you are in His hands, God will perfect all that concerns you. When

IT’S NOT TOO LATE FOR A MIRACLE

John 11:21-22 KJV [21] Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. [22] But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Welcome to the month of December 2022. So many things happened this year, through it all, the Lord kept you and I. Despite all the difficulties, there are good things that God has done and is still doing. It is what we focus on that is magnified. Your attitude determines your altitude. Begin this month with a heart of gratitude and complete trust in God. If God has done anything in your life this year, He’s able to do much more. There is so much that can still be accomplished before this year runs out.  Lazarus was sick in John chapter 11. His family sent for Jesus. By the time He got there, Lazarus had been dead four days. The family could have buried him, though they agreed he was already stinking at that time but even in the worse situation, they still had hope that Jesus could do somethi

Lamentations 3:22 KJV [22] It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. The words of some hymns spring not from a traumatic occurrence in a writer's life but in the midst of the daily routine. That is just the case in the writing of one of the 20th century's most loved hymns: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." The words of many of our favorite hymns are born out of life-changing experiences. Thomas Chisholm was born in a simple log cabin in Franklin, Kentucky, in 1866. Lacking a high school education or any college training, he became a school teacher at the age of 16 and later entered the newspaper business. The following years found him ordained a pastor, but poor health forced him to leave the ministry. After a time of recuperation, he moved to New Jersey to work as an insurance agent. A prolific writer of poetry, he sent a collection of his poems in 1923 to his good friend William Runyan, a musician associated with Chicag

2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV [9] And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Most songs were borne out of a faith journey that was often punctuated with various trials. Hardships inform our faith through the experience of God’s grace at work in our lives. Many of us have crossed over many difficult times in our lives and we question how we got over. It could only have been by the grace of God. This great hymn was written by Fanny Crosby (1820–1915). When Fanny was 6 wks old, she caught a slight cold & had inflamed eyes. The family physician was away. Another country doctor was called in to treat her. He prescribed hot mustard poultices to be applied to her eyes, which destroyed her sight completely! It was later learned that the man was not even qualified to practice medicine. Fanny never felt any resentment against him, but believ

BE ENCOURAGED (2) STORIES BEHIND THE HYMNS “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”

John 15:13 KJV [13] Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Every song has a special story behind it just by coming from the heart of the writer. As humans it is difficult not to despair in the face of adversity. However we can draw strength from our Rock and Helper whose grace will always be sufficient.  Irish born Joseph M. Scriven was 25 years old, in love and to be married to his sweetheart. As he was traveling to meet her on the day before the planned wedding, he came upon a horrible scene—his beautiful fiancée tragically lying under the water in a creek bed after falling off her horse. Heartbroken, Joseph sailed from his homeland to start a new life in Canada. While in Canada working as a teacher, he fell in love again and became engaged to Eliza Roche, a relative of one of his students. Once again, Joseph’s hopes and dreams were shattered when Eliza contracted tuberculosis and died before the wedding could take place. From this sad exper

Isaiah 3:10 KJV [10] Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him : for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Attorney Horatio Spafford, a friend and supporter of D. L. Moody, and his wife, Anna, had a wonderful family of four daughters. Tragically, the great Chicago fire destroyed most of his business in 1871. In November 1873, he made plans to visit Europe with his wife and four daughters. At the last minute, he was caught up in some work and sent his wife and daughters first, on the Ville du Harve, planning to join them later. Halfway across the Atlantic, the ship collided with a vessel and sank rapidly. All four of his daughters drowned. Mrs. Spafford survived the accident. Nine days later, she was able to contact her husband by telegraph with this question: “Saved alone—what shall I do?” Spafford took the next available ship to join his wife. During the passage, the captain of the ship notified Spafford they were crossing the place where the Ville du Havre had sunk.

EMPHASIS ON FAITHFULNESS

Image
Matthew 25:23 KJV [23] His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Faithfulness is the fact or quality of being true to one's word or commitments, as to what one has pledged to do, professes to believe. It comes from a place of trust and loyalty. It is a key ingredient in any relationship whether to God or man. The extent of a man’s faithfulness is pronounced in times of temptation or hardship, when no one is there. David comes to mind when thinking of an example of a faithful man in the Bible. He was faithful to God and to his boss, King Saul. Even those around acknowledged his faithfulness. Ahimelech asked the king in 1Sam 22:14 that who is so faithful among all thy servants as David?  Did he make mistakes? Yes he did but didn’t repeat the same mistake. His level of faithfulness is remarkable.  David served Saul wholeheartedly, yet Saul looked

TWISTS AND TURNS

Image
Isaiah 49:15 KJV [15] Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Joseph faithfully in one of his twists, served his master Portiphar who acknowledged that God was with him, yet put him in the prison for a sin he didn’t commit because it was his wife’s word against Joseph’s. This was despite his faithfulness to God and man. How many of you have been in such situation? You feel you don’t deserve what you are going through. Well Joseph was in the same shoes, yet he never stopped trusting God or doing good. He continued his act of kindness in the prison by looking out for others. That made him notice the butler and the baker were sad. He forgot about his situation and was willing to help. He made them see that solution belonged to God and helped them interpret their dreams. He was forgotten when one of them was restored despite his plea to him. A lot would have been running through his

CRACKED DOES NOT MEAN USELESS

Image
2 Corinthians 10:12 KJV [12] For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. We’re all created by God for a purpose but sometimes some people feel inadequate for one reason or the other when they look at others. We are not created the same and so we won’t always be like someone else. You are unique in your own way so be grateful for what God is using you to do in your own little way. That brings me to the story of the cracked pot. A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole that he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half p

WAITING WITHOUT WAVERING

Image
Hebrews 10:23 KJV [23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Waiting is not easy especially when it’s a long one. Waiting teaches us patience. Have you ever had someone taken into the theater for a surgery? One hour will look like one week. Or been on a long queue with little stamina. It will look like will it ever get to my turn? Or will I make it? Long wait sometimes make people doubt God or think He has forgotten about them. Trust God. He is working out something for you. We always make grave mistakes when we go ahead of God, it is a recipe for disaster. Wait, the red light will turn to green. Be patient. Be creative in your waiting time. Everything is about timing, God’s timing. Have you considered the time between when David was anointed king and when he actually reigned as king? Or when God promised Abraham that he will be the father of nations and when he actually had his son Isaac? Waiting for 25 years. Daniel prayed

TAKE IT TO THE LORD IN PRAYER

Image
Matthew 11:28 KJV [28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. We all have issues that bother us once in a while most of which we can’t handle. They give us sleepless night yet don’t get the problem solved. Some people’s temperature go up and still doesn’t solve the problem. Jacob was a man that was troubled about meeting his brother Esau. There was fear and anxiety not knowing what he will meet because of his brother’s birthright that he stole. (Did he really steal it? Esau willing gave him but he disguised to get the father’s blessing. That’s not my focus.) How did he handle it? He took out time to retreat to seek God’s face. Instead of fretting over what you can’t handle, why don’t you take it to the Lord in prayer? The song what a friend we have in Jesus resonated in my heart and I want us to carefully meditate on the lyrics. What a friend we have in Jesus All our sins and griefs to bear What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer O

WORSHIP

Image
John 4:23-24 KJV [23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Worship is the attitude of humility, reverence, honor, devotion, and adoration that properly mark the relationship of created beings to their Creator, especially in His presence. Worship is an attitude. It is a frame of mind, a condition of heart.  God created us to give him pleasure and to show forth His praise. One of the ways we do this is in the place of worship. Worship is the act of magnifying God and of expressing reverence and adoration towards God for all that He is. Although music is one of the most common forms of Worship that we know today, worship is certainly more than a song. Giving is also an act of worship. We are spirit beings so it is not surprising that the Father requires that we worship Him with our spiri

BOUNTIFUL HARVEST AND MARVELOUS HELP

Image
2 Corinthians 9:11 KJV [11] Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. Welcome to the month of September, the month of Bountiful Harvest and Marvelous Help. Begin this month with unusual thankfulness for what God has done and what He said He will do. A person that appreciates God does not depreciate. You may not have what you want, but if you think deeply, you will see that you have more than you deserve. Everyone desires harvest, but harvest can not be gotten without seed. The same way input determines output, seed also determines harvest. Every seed you have sown and will sow will produce for you inexhaustible yield. Your seed has the ability to speak for you. When the Lord sent Prophet Isaiah to Hezekiah that he should put his house in order because he will die. He reminded God of his service and God added fifteen years to his days. My husband and I had an accident eight years ago. The    car caught fire and people were trappe

DIG OUT THE GOLD IN YOU

Image
Job 8:7 KJV [7] Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. When you see a butterfly, you admire it’s beauty. It undergoes a change process which can not be skipped or avoided to become what it is. Change can be painful but it is necessary for growth. Everyone must undergo changes in life. Unforeseen twists and turns happen in life. We all encounter different obstacles, it is our response to these challenges that changes us. Change process may not be easy as it will test your level of endurance and patience, and how well you are able to deal with stress and frustration. Know what to feed on physically,    spiritually and mentally. It’s not everything that is good for you. As you take in new things, there are some old things you need to do away with so that they don’t limit or hinder you. As you begin this process it may look like nothing is happening. Keep at it. A lot happens behind the scene. On the outside, you may look the same, but on the inside, am

GOD GOES WITH YOU

Image
Joshua 1:9 KJV [9] Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Moses told Joshua not to be afraid for the Lord his God is with him anywhere he goes. I am telling you the same today. The Lord says in Matthew 28:20 that He is with you always, even unto the end of the world. He did not say sometimes but always. In good times and bad times, He’ll be on your side. You need to settle this truth in your heart. The Lord told Moses that He has seen the affliction of His people in Egypt and heard their cry. And He is come down to deliver them. He said He will send Moses to Pharaoh that he may bring the children of Israel out of Egypt. In verse 12 of Ex 3, He said, Certainly I will be with you. Certainly means surely, assuredly, definitely, undisputedly, the Lord is with you. You are not alone at any time. He’s the God that sends on errand and goes with you. The Lord says when you
