COUNT IT ALL JOY

Image
James 1:2-3 KJV - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Contrary to the normal human mindset, we are instructed to count our trials and temptations as joy. This is kingdom mindset, not the world’s. God’s plan is to use our trials to make us grow and to strengthen us.    This looks impossible to the natural man. That is why the scriptures the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Those trials try our faith and produce patience in you. Faith is built as you hear the word of God, but trials reveal how much faith you have. Faith is tested through trials but not produced by trials. Counting your trials as joy is a way of expressing your faith and it shows whether you are focusing on the trial or on God. When you focus on God, it depicts your trust in Him and empowers you to giv

DON’T GIVE UP

Image
Challenges and dificulties are unavoidable. They come whether you are walking in God’s will or not. Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth had to contend with barrenness. We all have to contend with one challenge or the other at every point in life.  When you are faced with difficult situations, do you give up or walk through? A very good example of a person that persevered is Abraham Lincoln. He failed some many times but he pushed past his failures and eventually became the 16th president of the United States. His name is known till date because he didn’t give up. Life is full of experiences that will make you swim or sink.    Don’t wait to learn to swim when the boat is at verge of capsizing. God is always willing to walk us through every difficult situation. Build a strong relationship with God before crises.  Faith believes what it can’t see which is contrary to the world standard. People can easily relate with what they can see that is why they state the obvious. Always see the light at t

WAITING SEASON

Image
Psalm 27:14 KJV Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. God is a God of times and seasons. Seasons are given to us to season us. You can’t pray yourself out of a season but you can choose how you are going to weather it. Every season must accomplish its purpose in due time.  There are different seasons, dry season and rainy season. No amount of fasting can shorten the seasons. You can’t get out of a season before it’s time. Be careful what you do when you are waiting. The right thing in the wrong season is a wrong thing.  When we are waiting, it sometimes look like we are wasting time, but it is not so. There is something that God wants to accomplish. The best thing is to understand the season you are in and get yourself equipped while you are in it. Learn all that you need to learn. Grow out of the season. Don’t rush to get out of it. Your waiting season is a time of preparation.    Ask God for direction.  Waiting season

THE LORD IS WITH YOU

Image
Jeremiah 20:11 KJV But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. The presence of God is guaranteed for every believer irrespective of the circumstance you are faced with. However that doesn’t exempt us from challenges. It only assures us of victory and peace in the midst of storm (if we’re conscious of His presence). The Psalmist said if he passes through the valley of the shadow of death, yet he will not fear evil, for God is with him. Processes are usually not comfortable or interesting but the products it produces are phenomenal. It is an oven experience. If the flour doesn’t go through the oven, it will not produce a good aroma and a product that will end up on the king’s table. Behind every glory there’s a story. Your story may be your ministry because in that mess there is a message. Don’t be ove

GOD IS ABLE

Job 22:29 KJV When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. Economic situation all over the world is nothing to write home about. When an event happens in one country, the effects can be felt on the economies of other countries. The world economy faces the risk of a prolonged period of growth.  The world system is failing everyday but the Word of God stands sure. The world system may seem to be easier but don’t go that way. God’s way is the best and far superior. Don’t look to natural sources, your job, your strength or investment (it doesn’t mean you won’t work but don’t depend on it. It can’t solve your issues). Believe God for direction and look to His Word. He is able to get things done. Who would have thought a fish could carry a coin? Yet it did. Or that a widow in Zarephath who had little left, could sustain a servant of God and her household through the period of famine? Anything can happen when God is involved. The foo

Uncontrollable Circumstances of life

I woke on the 4th of June which was my birthday with a heart of thanksgiving. I honestly have so many reasons to thank God looking at the goodness of God in my life. It was a Sunday and the church celebrated me, coupled with the fact that the day before was our 28th wedding anniversary. So it was double celebration characterized with so much singing and dancing, giving glory to God.  Usually my parents will call early to sing and pray, which was their custom for all their children and grandchildren, but they didn’t call me. I assumed it was because it was a Sunday and they knew we will be getting ready for church.  After service I called to ask why they didn’t call me, my mom said I should put that aside. They prayed for me. I spoke with my mom thrice that day, the last was 6pm when she called saying she will be going to buy something. I said I’ll come the following day to take since she prefers I drive her instead of her driver, but she said I shouldn’t bother. My dad called me at 8:3

BORN TO BE GREAT (2)

Image
1 Chronicles 29:12 KJV [12] Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Something is responsible for greatness. The source of a thing determines it’s greatness. Great rivers take their source from small rivers. The Bible talks of the Assyrian, a cedar in Lebanon. A tree with high stature. The waters made it great. Things don’t just happen. What you are connected to determine how far you grow. A tree that is not properly connected to the soil cannot last. It is when it is deeply connected that it can take root downward and bear fruit upward.  God is our Source. Greatness can only be accessed through Him.  When you delight in the law of the Lord and meditate in His law day and night, you will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever you do will prosper. God can lift

BORN TO BE GREAT (1)

Image
1 John 4:4 KJV [4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Every believer is destined to be great. This is because the seed of greatness is in you. Greater is He that is in you, once you have Jesus. However greatness is not automatic. It is only the seed that is in you. What you do with the seed determines how far you go. Some may choose to eat their seeds, or disregard what they have, thinking it is insignificant. While others may choose to plant and nurture the seed to its full potential.  No man can rise beyond his level of knowledge and understanding. No one stumbles into greatness, you work at it. How we attain greatness is very important. Some think they can pull down others, kill, cheat, lie, impersonate to attain greatness. It will be short lived.  What is your definition of greatness?  Is it your possession, your level of influence in this social media age or fulfilling God’s purpose for your l

SEEING DEEPLY

Image
Psalm 119:18 KJV [18] Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. The person that made this statement had his eyes opened. He can see the letters but needs supernatural illumination. God will not do what is humanly possible. When you close your eyes and pray that God should open it, you will be there until you are tired. The person that is asking God to open his eyes is asking for insight and revelation. He wanted the spirit behind the letters. He knows that the word is spirit and life. According to 2Cor3:6 the letter kills but the spirit gives life.  Looking is a physical act of moving your eyes to see something while seeing involves understanding what you are looking at. It is not everyone that sees well. Jesus spat on a blind man’s eyes and put His hands on him. He asked the man what he saw. He said I see men as trees, walking. He put His hands on him again and he was restored.  Looking is simply the act of directing your eyes towards something. Seeing,

REJECT LIES

Image
John 8:44 KJV [44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Lies can be defined as intentionally false statement. Something that is not true, involving deception or founded in a mistaken impression. It can come from someone to you. It can be by you or it can from your thoughts. The devil comes to you by dropping silly thoughts or ideas subtly in your mind. He attacks the mind. Everything that comes from the devil is a lie. He is the father of all liars. There is no truth in him. The only way he finds expression is when you agree with his lies. Anytime two people agree on a thing, there is always a quick manifestation. Don’t agree with any lie the devil tells you. It is only the thought of God towards you that is good. Cancel any strange thing that drops in your mind. T

PRIZED POSSESSION

Zechariah 2:8 KJV [8] For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. No matter what you are doing now or what you have done in the past, God sees you as He has purposed before you were created. He knows your value. He knows what He has deposited in you, so He can’t be moved by your shortcomings. No matter how many times you get knocked down, He knows you have the capacity to keep getting back up. When you don’t understand what is going on or what you have gotten yourself into, let it settle in you that everything is working together for your good and God’s thoughts towards you are thoughts of peace and not of evil to bring you to that expected end that had been preordained before you were formed in your mothers womb.  God needs your cooperation to help you get into the center of His will. He is willing to hold your hands and walk you through if you will put your hands in His

THE YOU GOD WANTS YOU TO BE

Image
Psalm 139:14 KJV [14] I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. The same effort you put staying and processing your weakness should be channeled to your strength. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong with you, focus on what’s right you. It starts with you. Don’t wait to be perfect before you accept yourself. There will always be some area you need to improve on. Be willing to do that but don’t stay there. Depend on God because He deliberately created us with flaws to depend on Him.  Focus on your victory not on losses. Don’t let the negative take the most place. Circumstances maybe against you but don’t be against yourself. Don’t try to be someone else. You have what it takes to be above. You have what others don’t have. Don’t feel inferior. Run your race not someone else’s. Be comfortable with who you are. Be you. Don’t fight what makes you unique. When you do, you are telling God, you didn’t do a good

DEALING WITH LIMITATION

Image
Jeremiah 32:27 KJV [27] Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Limitation is a force that holds one back from operating in the capacity that is ordained for one. It is a barrier that acts as a ceiling. It confines. It hinders. It puts a cap on one’s ability to express the foundational blessing pronounced on man at the beginning, to be fruitful and multiply, replenish the earth and subdue. Fear, curses, ungodly covenants, lack of knowledge, demonic forces and many other things can be a barrier or limitation to man. Breaking limitation sometimes can be beyond man’s ability, experience or capability. However there is a way to break limitations. It requires the supernatural to bring down any form of limitation. Though God knows our frame and we’re made of dust, yet He dwells in us. His presence drove Jordan back, turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.  The presence of the Lord will bring down any limitation.  O

WHAT GOD REQUIRES OF YOU

Image
Deuteronomy 10:12 KJV [12] And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, We are made to live a life of love, praise, kindness and service to God, to be true representatives of the Sender, acknowledging Him everywhere and in everything. Our greatest desire in life must be to please Him. He created us to give Him pleasure but that has been twisted as man seeks his own pleasure first, forgetting that without Him, we can do nothing. What God requires of us is; To fear the Lord. This is to reverence Him for who He is, to stand in awe, to be in submission to Him. If you reverence God, your fears will vanish. King Solomon having being privileged to live a life of affluence concluded that the whole duty of man is to fear God, and keep his commandments. To walk in all His ways. This requires a personal relationship with Him and having a r

WATERED GARDEN

Image
Isaiah 58:11 KJV [11] And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. To be a garden that is watered by the Lord, you have to trust in the Lord and allow yourself to be led and guided by the Lord continually. You will also be satisfied in drought. The Lord can only take responsibility for what is in His care, because He has given us the power to make choices. It is only when you are in His care that you can be nourished and sustained by His grace and you bear much fruit in and out of season. Continuous productivity and fruitfulness is guaranteed. Barely can any seed or plant survive without water, same with human beings. A garden that enjoys watering will be fruitful all year round. No matter how dry, sun scorched, life threatening or difficult situations may be, as you trust in the Lord and totally depend on the Living Water that never runs dr

PEACE IN STORM

Image
Joshua 1:9 KJV [9] Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. God knows that we will be faced with situations that can cause fear so he warned Joshua (the same warning goes for all of us) not to fear or be dismayed, that is concern and distress caused by something unexpected. Such an incident that can cause distress happened in the Bible. Let us see what should be done in trying times.  The disciples were in a ship to go ahead of Jesus to the other side. The ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. They screamed for fear thinking it was a ghost. But Jesus assured them that it was Him. Peter said Lord if it is you, bid me to come. Jesus said Come. Peter walked on water to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save

YOUR SEASON OF OPEN DOORS

Image
1 Corinthians 16:9 KJV [9] For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. Doors are systems to access. It can be entrance or exit. They can be bridge to something wonderful or barriers. Every time you see a door, you are faced with a need to make a choice. You decide whether you should walk past or you walk through. A lot of factors will be responsible for your decision as you don’t know what lies ahead. It is only the Holy Spirit that knows all things and can lead you correctly. The fact that God leads you or opens a door for you doesn’t mean you won’t face challenges. The enemy always stand as an obstruction to great things but Jesus already dealt with him. He has given you the victory.  God can shut a door for something greater ( maybe promotion, protection and so on). God shut Noah in. Prison door was shut on Joseph for promotion. That loss of job, quit notice, doctors report will take you to a great testimony in Jesus name. Your proximity to a

WHEN OPPORTUNITY IS NOT VISIBLE

Image
Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV [11] I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. God can use any circumstance to bless you. A lot of things around us don’t look like opportunities, but somehow something shows up by divine arrangement.  Opportunity is a time or set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something or for something to happen. For every issue that happens in our lives, there is always a window of opportunity that is opened for a turnaround and God to bless us. That is why the Bible says and we know that all things work together to them that love God. God is the only One that can use adverse situations to bless us tremendously beyond our imagination. Even when you don’t see the good in that situation, God can still make it end in praise.  Two women named Orpah and Ruth married t
