FEAR NOT

 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

[7] For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.


Fear can be defined as unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat. Everyone is a victim of what he fears. Fear can be triggered by a negative imagination of the future before it happens. Fear is a spirit. It controls if not checked. It has a strong effect on the mind and body. It can affect ability to eat, sleep, concentrate and enjoy life. No one deals with fear with kids glove. You exert authority over it. Fear robs us of so many things. Fear is not weakness, it reminds us that we are human with limitations. God told Gideon in Judges chapter 7 that he should tell those thirty two thousand men he gathered, that those that are fearful and afraid should go back. Twenty two thousand went back. God knows we will have fears, that’s why He made provision for three hundred and sixty fear not in the Bible. One for each day. Identify what causes fear and face it. What you don’t identify, you can’t confront. What you don’t confront you can’t conquer. Face your fears as if your whole life depends on it, because living in fear, keeps you from living. Prayerfully go into feared situations gradually and repeatedly until you feel less anxious. Fear torments. Don’t let it have a grip over you. Fear has different acronyms. False Evidences Appearing Real (which means it’s not real). Forsake Everything And Run (a loser mentality). Face Everything And Rise/Rejoice (a winner’s attitude). Which one will you choose? Don’t forget that God has not given you the spirit of fear. You have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear so fear not.

I woke on the 4th of June which was my birthday with a heart of thanksgiving. I honestly have so many reasons to thank God looking at the goodness of God in my life. It was a Sunday and the church celebrated me, coupled with the fact that the day before was our 28th wedding anniversary. DON’T GIVE UP

  Challenges and dificulties are unavoidable. They come whether you are walking in God’s will or not. Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth had to contend with barrenness. We all have to contend with one challenge or the other at every point in life.  When you are faced with difficult situations, do you give up or walk through? A very good example of a person that persevered is Abraham Lincoln. He failed some many times but he pushed past his failures and eventually became the 16th president of the United States. His name is known till date because he didn’t give up. Life is full of experiences that will make you swim or sink.    Don’t wait to learn to swim when the boat is at verge of capsizing. COUNT IT ALL JOY

  James 1:2-3 KJV - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Contrary to the normal human mindset, we are instructed to count our trials and temptations as joy. This is kingdom mindset, not the world’s. God’s plan is to use our trials to make us grow and to strengthen us.    This looks impossible to the natural man. That is why the scriptures the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
