THE DILIGENT (2)

Proverbs 12:24 KJV

[24] The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.


A diligent person is thorough, careful and meticulous. God blesses what the diligent does and gives him an advantage, irrespective of the role he occupies, whether a cleaner or a director. David was a diligent shepherd boy who gave his best discharging his assignment. The qualities he possessed as a shepherd boy was what he exhibited as a king when his promotion came. He paid attention to everything and did his work faithfully. He didn’t take anything for granted. He didn’t overlook the bear and the lion that took a lamb out of the flock. He went after them and delivered it out their mouth and slew both the lion and the bear. He could overlook it and say what is one among many or choose not to risk his life. Diligence is leaving things better than we met them. It is disciplining ourselves to be steadfast in doing things right when no one is watching. It is going above and beyond what is required. Performing with intense concentration, focus and going an extra mile. Diligence is a trait of character that allows people to do their best for God with excitement and passion to complete their work. Diligent people are committed to what they do and they love what they do. Diligence is hard work but it always produce commensurate reward. What area of your life requires diligence? Give it what it takes. If you need to do more exercise to stay fit, don’t hesitate. If you need to stay up late to beat a deadline, please do. Do everything within your power to accomplish the goal before you. All these efforts will pay back. Don’t be weary. The Lord will crown all your efforts in Jesus name.

I woke on the 4th of June which was my birthday with a heart of thanksgiving. I honestly have so many reasons to thank God looking at the goodness of God in my life. It was a Sunday and the church celebrated me, coupled with the fact that the day before was our 28th wedding anniversary.   Challenges and dificulties are unavoidable. They come whether you are walking in God’s will or not. Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth had to contend with barrenness. We all have to contend with one challenge or the other at every point in life.  When you are faced with difficult situations, do you give up or walk through? A very good example of a person that persevered is Abraham Lincoln. He failed some many times but he pushed past his failures and eventually became the 16th president of the United States. COUNT IT ALL JOY

  James 1:2-3 KJV - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Contrary to the normal human mindset, we are instructed to count our trials and temptations as joy. This is kingdom mindset, not the world’s. God’s plan is to use our trials to make us grow and to strengthen us.    This looks impossible to the natural man. That is why the scriptures the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
