Philippians 3:14 KJV

[14] I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The year is running to an end faster than we can imagine. We thank God for His mercies. There are few things we purposed to accomplish this year. Some have been ticked while others are pending. It is not because God is not willing to do His part but because we’re not determined enough. In everything, there’s a part of humanity and that of divinity. Pressing toward the mark is a personal responsibility. When we do what is humanly possible, God will do what is humanly impossible. It is not totally dependent on God. There were quite a bit of distortions this year that were beyond our control like the Covid-19., however that is not enough to stop us. Our level of determination must be greater than the obstacles we’re faced with. It’s not too late to press into those things that we desire for this year and to gain momentum for the coming year. We need to form the habit of consistency in pursuing our goals despite all odds and break unhealthy ones (like procrastination, idleness e.t.c) that will not help us to achieve our aspirations. It often feels difficult to keep good habits going for more than a few days, even with sincere effort and the occasional burst of motivation but we have to keep at it. We can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. If you plan to write a book, start writing a page or two daily. If you plan to lose weight, remove junks from your food gradually and try doing little exercise daily, may be working out. If you want to sing, avoid cold drinks and practice everyday. If you want to enhance your finance, look for what more you can do to generate income that will not affect what you are doing at the moment. Be an addict of financial education. Read a book and your Bible daily. You have to be deliberate about getting things done.Look out for resources or people that can help you to achieve your goal, this may include getting an accountability partner. There’s still so much we can achieve this year. Map out a strategy, work daily and pray all the time. All these work together not in isolation. The Lord will crown our year with goodness in Jesus name. Keep pressing on. Shalom.
