THE WHEEL OF LIFE

Luke 9:62 KJV

[62] And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Driving requires skill and care. Quite a number of people who drive, have safety at the back of their mind. Nobody wants to drive himself to destruction except those with suicidal intentions. The same principle of driving applies to how we stir the ship of our lives. No matter how skilled you are, it’s important you commit your journey into God’s hands. There are a few things I want us to look at when we are behind the wheels whether that of our vehicles or our lives;

For safety when driving, some basic things need to be observed like fastening your seat belt, not drinking while driving, observing traffic rules. If all these are necessary in driving our vehicles, more is required when we are navigating through vehicle of our lives.

You don’t focus on the rear mirror when driving except when you want to reverse which only takes a few seconds and you face front immediately. To keep looking back makes you live in the past and doesn’t give you room to make impact in the present. It makes you bitter and not better. Like Apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:13 KJV

[13] Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

He forgets the things behind and presses on to the goal ahead.

When driving, some  inexperienced or rough drivers will always drive carelessly which may affect you if you are not alert. Being alert will enable you to maneuver. Some people slow down to talk back at people. It’s not necessary. It’s not everything that you respond to. You let some things go.

Don’t let negative influences and unhealthy competition distract your journey of life. Don’t hand the wheel of your life to someone else to handle. The same people who make you grounded are the same people that will mock you. You are the one that will give account of your journey, no one else. You are the only licensed driver of the vehicle of your life. Drive  carefully. Keep moving irrespective of the speed, you will arrive at your destination in Jesus name.
