CLOSE YOUR EYES TO FAULTS

Luke 18:9 KJV

[9] And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Have you noticed that emojis with smiley faces have their eyes closed? When you have your eyes closed, you don’t notice some things. Learn to overlook things. Don’t take things too seriously. Make excuses for people rather than judging them. What you regard as fault may not necessarily be. Some times you may not have the details before jumping to conclusions. When the Apostles began to speak in new tongues on the day of Pentecost, some people mocked them that they were filled with new wine.

When you overemphasize people’s fault, it makes yours more visible. No one is perfect. We are all work in progress in the hands of God. The same person whose fault you focus on, also has strength. Choose to pay attention to the positive than the negative. Begin to see a half filled cup as half full rather than half empty. It’s a good way to begin to work on ourselves. What do you do to yourself when you make mistakes? And what do you do to others when they make the same mistake? If your phone drops from your hand what do you do? When it drops from someone else, what will be your reaction? Closing your eyes to people’s fault doesn’t mean you won’t address faults but address issues in love. Don’t keep hammering on it. When you have your eyes closed to people’s fault, you will not only be a smiling person, but a happy person.

Shalom

  2. Hmmm powerful write up, but what should be one reaction when you have to be correcting someone on a particular thing over and over again and yet the person refused to change even though you try to correct in love! So that you look like you are a fault finder?
