GREATNESS IN SMALL THINGS

Job 8:7 KJV

[7] Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

In the Gospel of Matthew, reference is made to the mustard seed in a parable. It is said that the Kingdom of God is  like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; which indeed is smaller than all seeds but when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches. The greatness of the mustard seed is not dependent on the size. It is a small seed that carries the potential of greatness on the condition that it is sown. The potential is useless if nothing is done with the seed. Greatness is not automatic. It must be harnessed. Every seed that is sown births the potential harvest in it. If it is not sown, it can’t bring forth harvest.

Greatness is always hidden in small/little things. It is usually concealed. This is one of the hidden wisdom of God. Jesus was given birth to in a manger. Looking at the greatness of His personality, one would have thought He would come from the palace. Everyone carries the potential for greatness like that mustard seed, but it must be nurtured and cared for, to find full expression. Make up your mind this year to give value to every potential in you and everything you can. Nothing must choke your dreams this year. Don’t be bothered about starting the year in a small way. Don’t despise the days of little beginning. The end of it will be more glorious if you will work at it. You are destined for greatness and you will manifest in Jesus name. This year will yield her increase to you if you will take time to cultivate the treasure in you.

Shalom
