TWISTS AND TURNS

Isaiah 49:15 KJV

[15] Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.


Joseph faithfully in one of his twists, served his master Portiphar who acknowledged that God was with him, yet put him in the prison for a sin he didn’t commit because it was his wife’s word against Joseph’s. This was despite his faithfulness to God and man. How many of you have been in such situation? You feel you don’t deserve what you are going through. Well Joseph was in the same shoes, yet he never stopped trusting God or doing good. He continued his act of kindness in the prison by looking out for others. That made him notice the butler and the baker were sad. He forgot about his situation and was willing to help. He made them see that solution belonged to God and helped them interpret their dreams. He was forgotten when one of them was restored despite his plea to him. A lot would have been running through his mind because of his predicaments like any other person. However he never gave up on God. Don’t let your present circumstance determine your actions. Men may forget you but God can never forget.

 Job had too many bad news in one day. In despair he worshipped God. His wife (that should be his encourager became a discourager) told him to curse God and die. Job being a man that feared the Lord knew better. Be careful who you listen to in times of difficulties. Some counsels are traps. Walk in the consciousness that even though you pass through the valley of the shadow of death, you will fear no evil, for God is with you. That phase will pass. You may not understand why things are happening, just trust the Lord that the many twists and turns will work together for your good. Every situation is a divine set up for your next level. God cannot forget you.

I woke on the 4th of June which was my birthday with a heart of thanksgiving. I honestly have so many reasons to thank God looking at the goodness of God in my life. It was a Sunday and the church celebrated me, coupled with the fact that the day before was our 28th wedding anniversary.   Challenges and dificulties are unavoidable. They come whether you are walking in God’s will or not. Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth had to contend with barrenness. We all have to contend with one challenge or the other at every point in life.  When you are faced with difficult situations, do you give up or walk through? A very good example of a person that persevered is Abraham Lincoln. He failed some many times but he pushed past his failures and eventually became the 16th president of the United States. His name is known till date because he didn’t give up. Life is full of experiences that will make you swim or sink.    Don’t wait to learn to swim when the boat is at verge of capsizing. COUNT IT ALL JOY

  James 1:2-3 KJV - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Contrary to the normal human mindset, we are instructed to count our trials and temptations as joy. This is kingdom mindset, not the world’s.
