WHEN OPPORTUNITY IS NOT VISIBLE

Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV

[11] I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

God can use any circumstance to bless you. A lot of things around us don’t look like opportunities, but somehow something shows up by divine arrangement. 

Opportunity is a time or set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something or for something to happen. For every issue that happens in our lives, there is always a window of opportunity that is opened for a turnaround and God to bless us. That is why the Bible says and we know that all things work together to them that love God. God is the only One that can use adverse situations to bless us tremendously beyond our imagination. Even when you don’t see the good in that situation, God can still make it end in praise. 

Two women named Orpah and Ruth married two brothers. Unfortunately they lost their husbands. It was a devastating situation for them and their mother-in-law. Naomi, told her two daughters in law to return to their people. Orpah decided to take up the offer and kissed her mother-in-law. Ruth chose to stay with the mother-in-law despite her insistence that she should do like her sister in law. She was adamant. She had made up her mind so there is no going back. She said “your people will be my people  and your God be my God.” It didn’t look like there was anything good in view.. This was a vague opportunity many like Orpah, would have jettisoned. Why would anyone follow a woman who doesn’t have a husband or sons she could give out in marriage? Not Ruth. She saw beyond that. She just wanted to be a blessing to Naomi, a woman who had lost everything. She didn’t know this decision will be something that will turn her life around for good. An opportunity for divine connection. She followed her mother-in-law and was of great service to the woman. She listened to the woman’s instructions and did as she said. She found herself in the lineage of not only the future king of Israel, but for the Messiah who would save the world. Who would have thought such a great thing could happen? 

Opportunity for greatness came through the service she rendered to an old woman who had no hope. Divine opportunities will come your way both in the valley situations of life and the mountain top situations of life. Be sensitive. Whatever you have gone through or going through now, the Lord will use it as a window of opportunity to bless you.
