BORN TO BE GREAT (2)

1 Chronicles 29:12 KJV

[12] Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

Something is responsible for greatness. The source of a thing determines it’s greatness. Great rivers take their source from small rivers. The Bible talks of the Assyrian, a cedar in Lebanon. A tree with high stature. The waters made it great. Things don’t just happen. What you are connected to determine how far you grow. A tree that is not properly connected to the soil cannot last. It is when it is deeply connected that it can take root downward and bear fruit upward.

God is our Source. Greatness can only be accessed through Him. When you delight in the law of the Lord and meditate in His law day and night, you will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever you do will prosper.

God can lift any man, irrespective of the circumstance.

Joseph was bought by Portiphar. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to  prosper in his hand.

He was put in prison for false accusation by Portiphar’s wife. While in the prison, the keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.

He proffered solution for the king of Egypt. Pharaoh acknowledged that the Spirit of God was upon him and said he will be over his house, and according unto his word shall all the people be ruled: only in the throne will he be greater than Joseph. A young man in a strange land without any qualification but had God on his side. He acknowledged God in all that he did and his Source made him great.

Who or what do you acknowledge as your Source? Is it your work, your strength/capabilities or God? It is only God that makes great. When you acknowledge Him in all your ways, He will direct your path and enable you to express the greatness that already exists within you.
