SEEING DEEPLY

Psalm 119:18 KJV

[18] Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

The person that made this statement had his eyes opened. He can see the letters but needs supernatural illumination. God will not do what is humanly possible. When you close your eyes and pray that God should open it, you will be there until you are tired. The person that is asking God to open his eyes is asking for insight and revelation. He wanted the spirit behind the letters. He knows that the word is spirit and life. According to 2Cor3:6 the letter kills but the spirit gives life.

Looking is a physical act of moving your eyes to see something while seeing involves understanding what you are looking at. It is not everyone that sees well. Jesus spat on a blind man’s eyes and put His hands on him. He asked the man what he saw. He said I see men as trees, walking. He put His hands on him again and he was restored.

Looking is simply the act of directing your eyes towards something. Seeing, on the other hand, is taking in the details of what you are looking at. It involves paying attention to what you are seeing and really processing the information.  Looking is passive while seeing is active. You can look at something without really taking notice of it, but you cannot see something unless you are actively engaged in looking at it, meditating on it.

Anything the eyes makes contact with consistently, becomes what the mind thinks. what your eyes makes contact with, forces your mind to begin to think on that reality. It’s easy for people to process their challenges because of their contact with it all the time. However there is a superior way to deal with that challenge, and that is seeing it through the word of God. Don’t be limited by sight, (what you see).

What we fix our eyes on continually will automatically impact our inner eyes. It is when we see with the inner eyes that we experience transformation. What are you fixing your physical eyes on, your problems or God's promises? To change your life, you must be deliberate about what you focus your eyes on. Remember, what you fix your physical eyes on continually will program your inner mind which will eventually determine your reality in life. Begin to see from God’s perspective. You are the determinant of your reality.

Shalom
