MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR RELATIONSHIPS

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR RELATIONSHIPS

We are all blessed one way or the other. I see relationship as one of those blessedness. It’s important to God so it is very important to me. Some people will come your way for a short period and some for long periods almost a life time. When they go down memory lane in another ten years, would they be grateful they met you or otherwise? It is possible to be good and do a wrong thing that wipes out the good due to the extent of hurt it brings. I know there are people that you’re nice to that will forget and hold on to little wrong. There’s nothing you can do about that, just be good. Forgive, forgive and forgive. Applaud people when you can. Encourage them, help them, inspire them, appreciate them, love them, check up on them. These things have a way of coming back to you cos they are seeds. Relationships are resources, you may need to draw from, some time or maybe your children. You definitely will need people at every phase of your life. Don’t think of what you can get from them but what you can give to them. Let us be deliberate about cultivating healthy and lasting relationships. See every relationship as a gift from God until otherwise proven. Good relationships bring good fruits, so you don’t need to overstretch yourself in every relationship. Relationships have seasons like the weather. It can be tough and demanding but it is always worth the trouble. Some eventually become family, like a sibling from another mother. I wrote about appreciation challenge this month and someone replied with this:

‘For me, we must eulogize people when they are alive. Telling their stories by their gravesides doesn't make sense. I write a lot about my friends.’

That’s the spirit. It started gradually until it became a habit. Form the same habit. I’m always grateful for the people around me. I’d like to use this opportunity to appreciate everyone who takes out time to read and make comments on this blog. It’s a lot of effort that is well appreciated. I’m grateful. God bless you. Let’s keep working on ourselves and our relationships. It is not good to be alone. Continue to be the best you can be.

  2. Well said. Yes relationship matters at all levels because it's a seed and will definitely germinate, grow and at the end , whatever you sow in the relationship is what you reap.

  3. Well said. Inasmuch as we follow peace with all men and holiness, we must also be conscious of the relationship we keep because the company you keep determines what accompanies you.

  4. You nailed it ma! Yes keeping a healthy relationship is good and goes a long way in life. I'm not perfect when it comes to that but from now on, I will make my relationship count by checking up on my friends through calls and text messages. Many thanks ma for drawing my attention to that.

  7. This is really inspiring. The greatest key in every relationship is to do unto others what you would wish them to do to you. Of course everyone cherishes good things in life and nobody would like to hurt his or her own feelings.

  8. Very true ma. God brings people our way for different reasons. Just like we didn't choose our parents nor our siblings, but God did. We need to love and appreciate everyone God brings our way.
