TAKE IT TO THE LORD IN PRAYER
Matthew 11:28 KJV
[28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
We all have issues that bother us once in a while most of which we can’t handle. They give us sleepless night yet don’t get the problem solved. Some people’s temperature go up and still doesn’t solve the problem. Jacob was a man that was troubled about meeting his brother Esau. There was fear and anxiety not knowing what he will meet because of his brother’s birthright that he stole. (Did he really steal it? Esau willing gave him but he disguised to get the father’s blessing. That’s not my focus.) How did he handle it? He took out time to retreat to seek God’s face. Instead of fretting over what you can’t handle, why don’t you take it to the Lord in prayer? The song what a friend we have in Jesus resonated in my heart and I want us to carefully meditate on the lyrics.
What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer
Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
As you take those worries and troubles to Him, He will give you rest.
