WORSHIP

John 4:23-24 KJV

[23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Worship is the attitude of humility, reverence, honor, devotion, and adoration that properly mark the relationship of created beings to their Creator, especially in His presence. Worship is an attitude. It is a frame of mind, a condition of heart.

God created us to give him pleasure and to show forth His praise. One of the ways we do this is in the place of worship. Worship is the act of magnifying God and of expressing reverence and adoration towards God for all that He is. Although music is one of the most common forms of Worship that we know today, worship is certainly more than a song. Giving is also an act of worship.

We are spirit beings so it is not surprising that the Father requires that we worship Him with our spirits. It’s not easy worshiping in times of challenge but it is the best antidote for it. John Dickson was a man who faced an oppressive cloud of difficulty. He operated a Christian bookstore that went through a terrible financial crisis. Here is his testimony of how God broke through in his life.

"Sometimes we just have to tell our soul what to do. Our soul does not always feel like praising God. As I praised Him as an act of my will, my spirit began to awaken inside me. As my soul began to line up with my proclamations, a flow of anointing began to be released. The oppressive cloud would lift, and the presence of God would come into my store. Over time my business turned around, and I knew it was not because of my keen business… It was the Lord. He turned my business around because I praised Him in the hard place."

Worship must be a lifestyle. True worship comes from the heart and it is authentic. That is what the Father is after ultimately. Your Father is waiting  for your worship. Every prison door will open as you worship because He is the One that had the key. When He opens no man can shut.
