GOD OF VENGEANCE ARISE

 GOD OF VENGEANCE ARISE

Job 14:7 KJV

[7] For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

[8] Though the root thereof wax  old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; [9] Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth bough like a plant.

Anything of great success starts small. Nothing of great significance happens overnight. That was the journey Nigerian youths embarked on for a better Nigeria. Looking at the present situation in Nigeria where young people took to the street on a peaceful protest against police brutality and harassment, the consistency, tenacity, composure and determination is quite commendable. They were obviously passing across their message and making impact. They have shown more leadership in their coordination especially without having anyone to lead them. And the same thing that they are clamoring for is what is repeating itself even during the agitation. Why would soldiers shoot randomly at these innocent children who are agitating for a better Nigeria? Who gave the order? Where is leadership in this country? Vengeance belongs to you o God, so we intreat you at this time to arise and fight our righteous course. Our heart bleeds but we know there’s hope for a tree that is cut down, at the scent of water, it will bud again.

There should be a way to curb the situation without killing.

There should be a way to meet with the demands of these youths. They are not asking for anything out of the ordinary.

There should be a way to handle things without wasting lives and properties.

I only wished these youths went home to observe the curfew and converge again after the curfew. Wisdom is profitable to direct. The nation can not be on total lockdown. There’s no way the curfew will not be called off. However two wrongs don’t make a right. The government should have responded in a better way since there was no issue of violence. They have a responsibility towards the citizens that elected them to leadership. Everyone will be accountable to God. So many things have erupted that can not be corrected due to one wrong action. Lives lost can not be brought back. We commiserate with families who have lost loved ones. Affliction will not arise a second time in Jesus name. We also pray for those who sustained injuries for quick recuperation. We have a lot to learn in this situation, not only for this nation but also in our dealings with others. Lord teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Shalom.
