 POSSESSING YOUR POSSESSION.

Welcome to the last quarter of year 2020. This month is a month of Possession. What does it mean to take possession? It means to seize, appropriate, take, get, acquire,  obtain, secure, procure, occupy,  capture, commandeer e.t.c. These words broken down will give us a better understanding of what we ought to do. Which of these words strike you more? Taking possession requires courage and boldness. Life will not give you what you desire but what you demand.  Things will not fall on your lap, you have to go all out and get them. Jacob had to wrestle to get into the next phase of his destiny. How determined are you? The woman with the issue of blood pushed through the crowd even in her frailty. The kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violent takes it by force. God promised the Israelites the land of Canaan, but they had to fight to take possession. Some times you need to contend in battle for what is yours. Your body is the temple of God not a place for sickness. The devil’s assignment is to steal, kill and destroy so you have to be ready to put on your whole armor and war a good warfare. Prophecies don’t fulfill themselves, you enforce them. Judges18:9 says be not slothful to go, and to enter to possess the land.  Joshua 18:3 KJV

[3] And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?

You can not afford to slack or be slothful in taking possession of God’s promises for your life. Wake up and step up. Everything that you are entitled to will be yours in Jesus name.  Shalom.

I woke on the 4th of June which was my birthday with a heart of thanksgiving. I honestly have so many reasons to thank God looking at the goodness of God in my life. It was a Sunday and the church celebrated me, coupled with the fact that the day before was our 28th wedding anniversary.   Challenges and dificulties are unavoidable. They come whether you are walking in God’s will or not. Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth had to contend with barrenness. We all have to contend with one challenge or the other at every point in life.  When you are faced with difficult situations, do you give up or walk through? A very good example of a person that persevered is Abraham Lincoln. He failed some many times but he pushed past his failures and eventually became the 16th president of the United States. His name is known till date because he didn’t give up. Life is full of experiences that will make you swim or sink.    Don’t wait to learn to swim when the boat is at verge of capsizing. COUNT IT ALL JOY

  James 1:2-3 KJV - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Contrary to the normal human mindset, we are instructed to count our trials and temptations as joy. This is kingdom mindset, not the world’s. God’s plan is to use our trials to make us grow and to strengthen us.    This looks impossible to the natural man.
