PUSH UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS

 PUSH UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS

Lk18:1-8

The story is told of a widow that wanted justice from an unjust judge. Hear what the unjust judge said:

Luke 18:4-5 KJV

[4] And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; [5] Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

Life is a constant battle: don’t let your battle wear you out, instead wear it out. Like the widow, we need to push until something happens. We must persist until we get what we want. Persistence is a firm or obstinate continuation in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. Persistence is tenacity, determination, resolve, resolution, purposefulness and staying power. The story of Diana Nyad  emphasizes the power of persistence. This woman has been a long distance swimmer for many years. At age 28 she tried to swim from Cuba to Florida. She tried again and failed. She failed a total of four times. Most people would have given up, but not her. She became the first person to swim that distance without a shark cage. She succeeded at age 64. She swam 110 miles through shark-infested waters battling stinging jellyfish for 53 hours of nonstop swimming. When she stumbled ashore, she was exhausted, but she took the time to say, “I’ve got three messages. One is we should never give up. Two is you’re never too old to chase your dreams; and three it looks like a solitary sport, but it’s a team effort.” She pursued a dream for thirty six years. That is remarkable. Persistence is what we need to practice. It allows God to move powerfully in our lives and breaks the force of resistance.  God is never late to do that which He has promised. Abraham got his desired testimony twenty five years after. If the unjust judge can attend to the widow, God will come through for you.

Luke 18:7-8 KJV

[7] And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? [8] I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

If you don’t give up, you will get what you desire. Shalom
