TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR THOUGHT (3)

Mark 7:20-21,23 KJV

[20] And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. [21] For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, [23] All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Thoughts are very powerful. They can make you excited or depressed, they can also make you win or lose. The mind is a battle field where all wars are won or lost. It is imperative to emphasize the fact that our lives go in the direction of our thoughts. Whatever your mind can conceive, it can achieve whether positive or negative. All the things listed in the above scripture starts from our thoughts. Nobody can commit these sins without first thinking about them, knowing they give temporary pleasure. Your thought life reflects in your words and actions. No one sees what goes in your mind but your words and actions reveal it. Thoughts dictates decision. The Lord said to Noah that the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth. No wonder it’s so easy to process negative thoughts as they come, instead of dealing with them. As you spend more time thinking on negative things, they become monsters that chase you and eventually turn to false evidences that mature to reality. So it will take a conscious effort to refocus on what is right by using the word of God as a guide. We must win the battle of the mind by recognizing and rejecting the lies of the devil and realigning our thoughts with the truth of God’s Word. Don’t let the devil take advantage of a negative occurrence in your life to oppress you. Let him know that affliction is not permitted to rise a second time. The fact that you have fallen or failed before doesn’t mean you are destined for failure or to be on the floor permanently. That sickness will not lead to death. It is for the glory of the Lord to manifest. The Word of God says Arise, Shine for your light is come. Change those thoughts to the thoughts that God has towards you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Let the mind which was also in Christ Jesus be in you. When those ungodly thoughts come, cast it to Jesus for He cares for you. Negative thoughts drain you. Feeding our mind with truth can be challenging during trying times but it is the right thing to do. Acknowledge the fact that you need God’s help in the area of your thoughts and He will surely help you. It takes constant practice of using the Word of God to overcome the battle of the mind. Deliberately choose to do this. You can do it because you are an overcomer.

Shalom
